How does pollution impact biodiversity?
- Pollution affects a marine biodiversity with sediment, nutrient, and chemical run-off from agricultural and urban lands. Pollution in a biodiversity has been going on for the last 2 centuries and continues to increase globally every day.
- Organisms that live in a biodiversity are highly affected by the poisonous pollutants and those pollutants are destroying the organisms' ecosystem. With the many toxicants that can act, even with very minimal exposure, it is almost impossible and to remove dissolved pollution from the environment with modern technical methods.
- Organic and non-organic wastes are releases of large amounts of the most ecotoxic materials. There are several kinds of these toxins that are released are few of which are heavy metals, ammonia, cyanide, volatile organic compounds, halogenated organic compounds, and arenes.
What are some solutions to help clean up the pollution in biodiversity?
-
There are two ways to help reduce pollution in biodiversities. (1) Reducing the consumption or usage of a pollutant, (2) treatment of wastes discharges, and disposals of pollutants.
-
To reduce the consumption or usage of a pollutant we have to stop using disposing so many reusable items like a plastic water bottle, and unplug many of the cords not being used in our homes.
- The treatment to discharge wastes is a little more complicated to do because most people don't recycle and recycling is the best thing to do. All we need to do is start to recycle more and more, well first the word on how we are destroying our planet needs to get out there, then we can be more persuasive and encouraging on how to make our planet a better place.
- We need to start with reusing plastic water bottles, all you have to do is refill it, put it in the fridge and drink when you're thirsty. Next we are off to the plastic bags, STOP using those, use a burlap sack or a cotton bag, but NOT plastic bags!
- When we have empty ink cartridges make sure you recycle those because they get cleaned and refilled then, because they are recycled, you can buy them cheaper than you can a brand new one.

How is the population sizes affected by pollution?
-
Population sizes are affected because insects and animals depend on food to survive. If the food has grown from an area that has a lot of pollution, then it will contain the harmful chemicals in it and the animals will eat it. In many cases people have found half rotten carcasses where the animal has died from actually eating the pollution, you see it a lot in seagulls because on the beach people forget to pick their trash and the seagulls see it as food.
What are some solutions to help the population sizes?
-
Solutions are all over the place to help population sizes! The main one is to recycle, a lot of people need to do this though. Many people don’t think that it is necessary to do, but when you think about it, it is necessary. Recycling may not seem important, but the pollution is killing the animals in our world. When recycling takes place it helps species survive, and we feel good about it, knowing that we are helping save animals’ life's and some other peoples’ life's.
How are resources affected by pollution?
-
Resources are affected by pollution, because it gets into our crops and water ways, then we don’t know what is really in it and we could seriously sick from it. There are a lot of people who end up getting cancer and dying, just from drinking water, or eating certain foods that have been grown in an environment that has been exposed to harsh chemicals. Pollution is the worst thing in the world, and it was not here until the human population got all smart and found the nonrenewable resources, and started to find a way to make plastic, styrofoam, and paper.
What are some solutions that are being done to help resources that are polluted?
- There are many alternate fuel sources that are being used in the place of a lot of the hazardous materials, but that's not all that needs to be done. Factories need to start filtering the water they use, and filter it really good, if they have to they should put it in a huge pot and boil the heck out of it, because chemicals don’t evaporate like water does.
How does pollution affect animals becoming extinct?
- Pollution affects extinction because, pollution leads to the destruction of habitats and it depleats that habitats’ resources so no species could live there and survive anymore. Once all of a plant resource is gone, then the insects start to decrease in population, then the small animals that eat the insects, from them to the larger one, until eventually there is not a single living organism left in that habitat.
What are some solutions to help prevent extinctions caused by pollution?
- Solutions to help prevent extinction is to stop dumping chemicals into water ways that run through habitats, stop littering on the highways, and to pick up garbage if we see it. There is no need to why people can’t pull over at a gas station to throw their garbage away, or at least have a small garbage can in their car so they don’t have to stop so much. Putting your garbage where it goes is not that hard, is it? I mean like come on people, if you watch National Geographic they talk about and the Weather channel. So lets step up and make OUR world a better place! Pollution is just as disgusting as a rotting carcass, but why is there rotting carcasses anyway? Is it our fault? I say yes, it’s our fault because, we decided to be the ones who was polluting their environment! SO LETS MAKE A CHANGE TODAY! STOP POLLUTING!
